Spring Break Recap.

So, no surpises here, but there are no pictures to go along with this post. I get too caught up in what we are doing to remember to take pictures.

We talked about going to Denver for spring break, but just couldn't convince ourselves to take the 13 hour car ride. It's a good thing we didn't because they got a HUGE snow storm and we would have been caught right in the middle. So, we did a staycation.

Friday night, Marty and I got a hotel in Bentonville and enjoyed a nice evening away from the girls. It was a test run for future nights away. We weren't sure if the girls would get scared being at home alone. They did GREAT, so now we feel more comfortable leaving them while we go to Dallas or OKC for a few days. Yahoo!

Saturday and Sunday we got a decent snow storm. We had 10 inches of snow at our house. We stayed home from church and played games. What a fun way to start the week.

We planned a different activity each day of the week. We had planned to go to Tulsa and go to the aquarium one day. However, the girls asked if they could have the money we would spend at the aquarium and go shopping instead. So Monday we went shopping (until Jess got sick). Tuesday we cleaned and organized the garage in preparation for our garage sale on Friday & Saturday. Wednesday we went skating. Thursday, Marty went swimming with Addy & Rylee while Jess and I went shopping. Friday morning we had a garage sale and went bowling in the afternoon. Saturday we continued with the garage sale and went to church for YW recognition and broadcast. That last activity deserves a post of it's own, so stay tuned for a further details.

Overall, a busy but fun Spring Break!

I want to be one of your girls so you can take me shopping as well :)

It's nice that you guys can leave the girls and go off for a little time of your own. Glad it was a success and that you now have other outings/weekends away to look forward to!

Sounds like you guys had a fun and productive spring break with lots of fun memories. Going places is fun but sometimes it's just nice to stay close to home during a vacation. And that's great that you and Marty could also get some time away as well.
