Long Over Due Post

Finding time to post to my blog has proved to be tougher than I thought. Additionally, life has been pretty boring, so no great news to share either. Both of these situations changed this week, thanks to a little ice.

Addyson called me on Monday and said they were letting the schools out early and buses weren't running (turns out that wasn't all true, she got some poor information about the buses). I left work about 1:45 and I haven't been back since. We got hit with a tremendous ice storm that has closed schools for the past few days.

Roads are completely ice covered. There was no way I could make it up the hill on our road to get out to work. I had ambitions of going to work this morning, so Marty went to clear a path. Our garage doors were iced shut. After banging on the doors several times, they opened. Marty then shovelled, and shovelled, and shovelled, for over an hour. As he was finishing, we watched a neighbor try to get up the hill on the road. It was a hard, barely successful attempt. I decided, I'm staying put one more day. The sun is out today and I'm hoping our road will defrost just a bit even though the temperature won't get above freezing. I really need to get back to work.
During the past 2 days, we've spend a large portion of the days with no electricity, or no phone, or no internet. At times, it was all three. So what do we do with three girls out of school?

  • phase 10

  • nacho loco

  • hit or miss

  • karaoke

  • monopoly

  • trivia for dummies

  • slumber parties

  • play in the ice

  • be bored

  • sleep in and take lots of naps

It's been nice to spend some time together as a family, but I think we are all ready to get back to work and school, but that will wait one more day, since school is cancelled again tomorrow.
