Playing Catch Up Part IV Rocky Mountain High

This will be the last of the catch up blogs for today. I'm not sure why the blogs don't post in the order that I posted them, but we all know I'm not the best blogger out there.

The middle of May, Rylee went to Utah to spend six weeks with Granny & Grandad. We made a quick trip to Utah the end of June to pick her up. After that we went to Colorado to spend a few days in the beautiful mountains. I promise Addyson was with us, but she managed to stay out of all the pictures. Silly girl, must be related to her mother! The rest of this post is just some of the gorgeous pictures that we took. Hope you get a little Rocky Mountain High too!

Playing Catch Up part II A Thespian is born

Jessica was in her first full production play this year. They did "Alice In Wonderland" She played the part of a rock lobster. I was so engaged in watching the play that I never took pictures of her on stage. We did get some pictures of her with some of her cast mates though.

Jessica has really taken a liking to acting. She tried out for the forensics team. She made it for next year. She has spent many hours this summer looking for just the right pieces to use for competition. With her outgoing personality and perseverance, I know she'll do great!

Playing catch up Part I Blondes don't have all the fun

I'm not great at this bloggin thing, but since I want to preserve some of our family memories, today will consist of a series of catch up blogs.

In May Jessica decided that she didn't want to be a blonde anymore. She'd actually been thinking about it for quite some time, but the final decision was made the first of May. I'm a believer in picking your battles with teen-ager, and this wasn't a battle I was going to fight. I just asked that she chose a color that was "natural" looking. No blue, purple, pink, etc. Before
during

Almost done

New darker haired brunette. I think I like it.

Playing catch up Part III Rock On

The first week of June was Wal-Mart share holders meeting. As part of this fun event, there is a week of free concerts. I hadn't taken the girls before, but I decided that we would make it a date this year. Rylee was in Utah, so just Addyson and Jessica went with me.

First off though, we met Anita. Anita and I met online through an LDS working mom's support group. She also works for Wal-Mart in Texas on the asset protection team. She was asked to come and work security for the shareholders events.
The first concert was Foreigner. Jessica was really enjoying the music. Jessica is a rocker deep inside. I leaned over and told her this was the music I listened to when I was her age. She said, "I wish I were your age. This music rocks!"

The next concert was Chris Daughtry. Definitely Jessica's style of music. She loves her music extra loud. Addyson wasn't nearly as much of a fan.

It's great to be able to work for a company that allows us to build these kinds of memories.
