Months ago we received an email from one of Marty's brothers that he was organizing a surprise birthday party for their mother. We let everyone know from the beginning that we would not be able to attend. We couldn’t pull the girls out of school for enough time to drive there and flying would be just too expensive. Needless to say we received a lot of grief for our decision. All the kids, most of the grandkids and all of the great grandkids would be there except us. Marty comes from a LARGE family, so this is a lot of people to give us grief.
Less than a week before the party I checked Allegiant Airlines to see if they had any last minute deals. Sure enough they did. We booked the tickets and then I asked for the time off. Flights leave Thursday night and return Sunday so I only needed a day off and the girls would only miss one day of school. Thankfully Jeff agreed to the time off and we were off!
None of our girls had ever flown before, so this was quite the adventure for them.
The rest of this post is a pictorial, but I think you’ll see that there was a lot of fun put into the party and Granny was so HAPPY to see everyone!
