Okay, so today I did not win again. Try as I might, I just will not ever win this award.
I absolutely can not stand listening to my girls argue. Before church started today, two of my girls really got into it. I didn't handle it the best I probably could have. One daughter actually stayed mad at me clear through church and a couple of hours into the afternoon. (Thank goodness brownies solve broken hearts)
So, here's where you come in. What do you do when your kids are arguing. Any ideas that can put me in the running for the "mom of the year" award?

Not sure if it works for teenagers, but I make my kids hug. It might be worth a try just to get a good laugh. :)
My mom DID win Mother of the Year in 1977- she was pregnant with me so I think I was her good luck charm, she also was runner up a few years ago also. Although I don't think she would like them to know some of her dicipline stadegies from when I was a kid! I know she hit one brother on the head with the phone because he was fighting with another sibling- she didn't want to interupt the person on the phone.
See, even mom's who win that award don't handle things perfect!!There was a wooden spoon, we had soap put in our mouths, I remember having to sit in my room with my sister because we weren't getting along- we couldn't come out until we could be nice- 5 hours later we were able to come out!
I yell at them. Yup, I should be nominated any day now! :) I yell at them and take away whatever it was they were arguing about. That goes over well, especially when it's playing time on the Wii at Granny and Grandad's house. :) Somehow I'm gonna guess that isn't much different than what you do.
That fun is just starting to happen at our house too. I could use some advice as wel!
Make them sit on the couch and hold hands... that's the worst!
I make mine "serve" each other until they can get along. Make each others beds, straighten dresser drawers.... They usually hate me in the end and love each other! I TRY to stay upbeat and perky in my voice so it really drives em crazy! If this doesn't work, I yell.
