Today is Marty's birthday. I thought I share some things about him. Some may really surprise you, other may not.
When Marty was in high school he was heavily involved in politics, television, radio, drama, and choir. Marty went to Washington DC as a representative from Wyoming for young republicans. His high school had both a TV and radio station. He was the morning anchor on the early news broadcast and the evening disc jockey on the radio station. Marty won several state awards in speech and debate as well as choir. As a high school student he was very involved very talented.
When I met Marty at the University of Wyoming he was considered the most eligible bachelor in the ward. Boy were the girls mad when I swooped him up in less than a couple of weeks. We were engaged before some of them even realized we were dating. That didn't make me very popular.
Marty is the most patient, kind man I know. He'd give the shirt off his back for someone if they needed it. He loves to serve others and the Lord. Marty is passionate about finances. He reads and reads and reads about personal finance. One day he'd like to be a certified financial advisor working for a non-profit to help people dig their way out of financial problems. It's great to have someone managing the finances that is so passionate about it. (We all know that is a polar opposite of myself).
In the 16 years that I have known Marty I have come to love him for all the different sides of him. He is an amazing, talented man. Happy Birthday!
